2013 Vauxhall Astra VXR

2013 Vauxhall Astra VXR is based on the new GTC, has benefited from a raft of bespoke chassis modifications to meet a significant boost in performance brought by the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that produces 280PS and 400Nm of torque. Diameter has been reduced from 370mm to 360mm compared to all other models in the Astra range, making the steering feel even more precise and direct. Center-piece of cabin Vauxhall Astra VXR is Vauxhall's all-new under the steering flat.
Further changes to the chassis was developed by suppliers, including competition brakes, Brembo, standard fitment FlexRide fully adaptive damping system Vauxhall, uprated springs and dampers newly developed between VXR and ZF Sachs. Handwheel grip has been enhanced with a chewy sponge rubber packing around the ring magnesium / steel hybrid and then cover the entire wheel in a premium, soft leather cross-stitched. Wheels are available with an optional heated rim, and features the VXR logo, as well as multi-function controls on the finger.

The VXR's turbocharged, 2.0-liter direct injection engine harks from a family badge, but while the aluminum block is the same, unique VXR has an aluminum cylinder heads and a new turbocharger to deliver 280PS (40PS up on the previous model) and more than 200Nm per liter of torque - the highest specific output in its class, then state-of-the-art intake system was developed to feed air to the turbocharger as much as possible. Turbocharger itself is also enhanced to take more charge-air pressure, which was built from from 1400rpm to linear acceleration and powerful with maximum charge pressure of 1.5 bar now - 25 percent more than at 2.0T emblem.
Vauxhall Astra VXR will combine to give class-leading 400Nm of torque, providing 0-60mph time of 5.9 seconds and a strong mid-range performance. Develop a high-torque engine for Vauxhall Astra VXR is the key to unlock the real world cars, mid-range performance, rather than focusing on their own strength. And the maximum torque generated in the vast plains between 2450rpm and 5000rpm, VXR driver will never want for instant acceleration.

Performance of the direct Vauxhall did not come at the expense of efficiency and durability. As with all models last VXR, Astra became the target of prolonged testing at the famous Nordschleife Nüburgring to 10,000 kilometers in a race condition - the equivalent of about 110,000 kilometers of roads. Vauxhall Astra VXR driver can also look forward to a soundtrack that has been carefully engineered to appeal to enthusiasts, both from within and outside the car. Drivers will get the full effect in the range of mid to high rev, especially when they turn up from third to fourth under full throttle. While for the Astra VXR can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.9 seconds and reaches 155mph maximum, standard Start / Stop technology has reduced fuel consumption by 14 percent (compared with previous models) to 34.9mpg combined, and reduce emissions to 189g / miles.
