2013 Vauxhall Astra VXR is based on the new GTC, has benefited from a raft of bespoke chassis modifications to meet a significant boost in performance brought by the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that produces 280PS and 400Nm of torque. Diameter has been reduced from 370mm to 360mm compared to all other models in the Astra range, making the steering feel even more precise and direct. Further changes to the chassis was developed by suppliers, including competition brakes, Brembo, standard fitment FlexRide fully adaptive damping system Vauxhall, uprated springs and dampers newly developed between VXR and ZF Sachs. Handwheel grip has been enhanced with a chewy sponge rubber packing around the ring magnesium / steel hybrid and then cover the entire wheel in a premium, soft leather cross-stitched. Wheels are available with an optional heated rim, and features the VXR logo, as well as multi-function controls on the finger.
